02) Stay With Me - Joseph Platt

A self-reassuring voice is heard, an innocent sing-song in the dark. So begins Joseph Platt's pursuit which is soon joined by a rejuvenating and upbeat rhythm backing and a chorus of friendly voices to support him in his quest.

The melody suggests that the voice is following a passage, where for the most part the harmony is left pondering, awaiting the satisfying completion that is at the tunnel's end.

There is an interspersion of high notes throughout which infiltrates cheekiness of a "you can't catch me" nature. These high notes send a splash of light rippling back and forth, demonstrated by an instrument whose sound ricochets out of the circle.

Joe's tone is delicate but cheerful and comforting and his agility when faced with large intervals is marvellous. After a paramount final chorus, the three motifs are presented on a silver platter - a soft serenade based on the Latin melody, the swirling high part and Joe's quiet plea injected on the surface.
